Army Chief Presents President’s Standards To Elite Armoured Regiments.

On 25 March 2023, an impressive Standards Presentation Parade was held at Suratgarh Military Station in Rajasthan, where General Manoj Pande, the Chief of Army Staff, presented the prestigious ‘President’s Standards’ or ‘Nishan’ to 4 Armoured Regiments of the Indian Army. The four Armoured Regiments, namely the 49 Armoured Regiment, 51 Armoured Regiment, 53 Armoured Regiment and 54 Armoured Regiment were recognized for their exceptional valour, courage, and fortitude shown during wars and peacetime operations.

The Armoured Corps is one of the most elite combat arms of the Indian Army, and its contribution to the country’s security cannot be overstated. Since India’s Independence, the Armoured Regiments have played a significant role in safeguarding the nation’s borders and have time and again proved their mettle in wars and conflicts.

The mounted parade by the four Armoured Regiments, along with tanks, was a grand spectacle that drew dignitaries and military veterans from far and wide. The impeccable display of military precision and discipline was a testament to the professionalism and dedication of the Armoured Corps.

After reviewing the parade, Chief of Army Staff General Manoj Pande expressed appreciation for the Armoured Corps’ history of bravery, sacrifice, and traditions both on the battlefield and during times of peace. He praised the Regiments that were presented with the esteemed President’s Standards for their outstanding service and expressed his good wishes to the troops and their loved ones.
