The Ministry of Culture has announced its plans to celebrate the International Day of Yoga (IDY) on 21st June 2023. In a recent directive, all organizations under the ministry, including attached offices, subordinate offices, and autonomous bodies, have been instructed to actively participate in the event. They are expected to follow the approved Common Yoga Protocol, ensuring a uniform approach throughout the ministry.
IDY 2023 at Iconic Sites
To enhance the reach and participation in IDY, the Ministry of Culture has proposed the observance of the event at iconic sites. The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) circle offices will provide assistance in organizing the celebrations at these sites, enabling a wider audience to partake in the event. One such iconic location for the IDY celebrations is Purana Qila in New Delhi.
Celebrations with Distinguished Guests
At the celebratory event in Purana Qila, New Delhi, Minister of State for Culture, Smt. Meenakshi Lekhi will grace the occasion as the honored guest. The presence of esteemed dignitaries will further amplify the significance of the International Day of Yoga. Additionally, the Ministry of Culture staff, officials, and other organizations in Delhi will actively participate in the IDY celebrations, fostering a spirit of unity and well-being.
IDY Festivities in Nurmahal Sarai, Jalandhar
In Nurmahal Sarai, Jalandhar, Punjab, the Minister of State for Culture, Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal, will be the Chief Guest for the IDY celebrations. The Ministry of Culture’s organizations across the country will also organize various cultural events and programs at their respective headquarters, adding vibrancy to the festivities.
Showcasing India’s Unity for Public Health
The Ministry of Culture remains committed to making the International Day of Yoga 2023 a grand success.
