Defence Secretary Shri Giridhar Aramane had a bilateral meeting with the UK Minister of State for Defence Procurement Mr Alex Chalk on the sidelines of the Aero India 2023 exhibition. The meeting, which took place on 13 February 2023, focused on a range of issues related to defence cooperation and potential areas for industrial cooperation.
During the meeting, the two officials discussed various ongoing and future defence cooperation issues between India and the United Kingdom. They also explored potential areas for cooperation in the defence industry, which is a crucial aspect of the bilateral relationship between the two countries.
The UK Minister was accompanied by British High Commissioner to India Mr Alex Ellis, reflecting the importance that the UK attaches to its defence and security relationship with India. The two countries have been working to deepen their defence ties in recent years, with a focus on areas such as joint exercises, technology transfer, and defence manufacturing.
The Aero India 2023 exhibition, which was inaugurated by Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is one of the largest defence exhibitions in the world, providing an ideal platform for countries to showcase their defence capabilities and engage in high-level discussions on defence cooperation.
