Punjab

Punjab is a state in India that is located in the northwestern part of the country. The state is bordered by the states of Jammu and Kashmir to the north, Himachal Pradesh to the east, Haryana to the south and southeast, and Rajasthan to the southwest. Punjab also shares a border with the union territory of Chandigarh to the south and Punjab has a population of around 27.7 million. The state capital is Chandigarh, which is also the capital of the union territory of Chandigarh.

Punjab is an agriculturally prosperous state and is the largest producer of wheat in India. The state is also a leading producer of rice, milk, sugarcane, and cotton. Punjab’s rich culture and heritage are well known. The state is home to many historical sites, including the Harmandir Sahib (also known as the Golden Temple), which is the holiest site for Sikhs.
