“The Kerala Story” is now available for streaming on ZEE5, offering viewers a glimpse into the journey of characters like Shalini and Fatima Ba. Directed by Sudipto Sen and produced by Vipul Amrutlal Shah, the 2023 Indian Hindi-language drama film features a talented cast including Adah Sharma, Yogita Bihani, Sonia Balani, and Siddhi Idnani.
The plot revolves around a group of women from Kerala who are coerced into converting to Islam and joining the Islamic State. Marketed as a true story, the film delves into the controversial concept of “love jihad,” perpetuating the Hindutva conspiracy theory. It falsely claims that thousands of Hindu women from Kerala have been converted to Islam and recruited by the Islamic State.
