Amit Shah extended best wishes on Goa Liberation Day.

On the 19th of December Amit shah said on Twitter “Greetings to our sisters and brothers of Goa on ‘Goa Liberation Day’.”

He said “Remembering all those brave hearts who worked hard to free Goa from foreign rule, I bow to their valor and courage”.

About Goa’s Liberation:-

Goa, an Indian state, was freed from almost 450 years of Portuguese rule on December 19, 1961.

The movement for independence in India in the 19th century also had some influence in Goa. In the 1940s, residents of Goa also participated in the Satyagraha. Even after India gained independence in 1947, the Portuguese refused to leave Goa.

The government, however, did not take any military action then, it conducted a series of diplomatic talks with the Portuguese. After negotiations failed, the then Government of India chose the military option for the liberation of Goa.

PM Modi greeted the people of Goa on Goa Liberation Day. 

“Goa Liberation Day greetings to the people of Goa. On this day, we recall the courage and monumental contribution of all those who were a part of the movement to free Goa. We are inspired by their vision and are working towards Goa’s development.”

Yogi said, “A humble tribute to the immortal sons of Mother India, Pt. Ram Prasad Bismil, Ashfaq Ullah Khan, and Thakur Roshan Singh, the masterminds of ‘Kakori Train Action’, on their martyrdom day”!

He said, “The immortal sacrifice of all of you infused new consciousness and energy in the great war of freedom, which will remain unforgettable for centuries”.
