In a significant step towards enhancing agricultural productivity and ensuring water availability for farmers, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan is set to perform the Bhumi Pujan of the Handia Micro Lift Irrigation Project in Khategaon, District Dewas. The groundbreaking ceremony, scheduled for 4.30 pm today, marks the commencement of an ambitious venture that promises to revolutionize farming practices in the region.
The Handia Micro Lift Irrigation Project, with an estimated cost of 1294.27 crores, holds immense promise for the agricultural community, offering a sustainable solution to water scarcity and increasing crop yields. Through the innovative use of lift irrigation technology, the project aims to provide a reliable and consistent water supply to agricultural lands, thus empowering farmers with enhanced irrigation facilities.
The micro lift irrigation system involves the use of pumps and pipelines to lift water from nearby water sources such as rivers, ponds, or reservoirs to higher elevations. From there, the water is distributed through pipelines to various fields, ensuring efficient and optimized water usage. By implementing this modern irrigation technique, the Handia Project seeks to mitigate water wastage, improve water distribution, and maximize crop cultivation in the region.
The inauguration of the Handia Micro Lift Irrigation Project marks a significant milestone in the state’s commitment to agricultural development and farmer welfare.
