Haryana CM Manohar Lal Pays Tribute to Chandrashekhar Azad on His Martyrdom Day

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal paid heartfelt tribute to the courageous revolutionary Chandrashekhar Azad on his martyrdom day, acknowledging his indomitable spirit and unwavering dedication to the cause of Indian independence.

Reflecting on Azad’s fearless demeanor, CM Manohar Lal remarked, “Chandrashekhar Azad ji, the brave son who gave meaning to the name ‘Azad’ by instilling fear in the hearts of the British with his valiant acts, will always be remembered as a great revolutionary.”

Chandrashekhar Sitaram Tiwari, popularly known as Chandra Shekhar Azad, was born on July 23, 1906, in Bardarka village, Unnao district of the United Provinces. After the demise of Ram Prasad Bismil and other prominent leaders, Azad reorganized the Hindustan Republican Association (HRA) into the Hindustan Socialist Republican Association (HSRA). His steadfast leadership and strategic acumen played a pivotal role in revitalizing the revolutionary movement against British colonial rule.

Azad’s commitment to the cause of freedom was unwavering, as he fearlessly confronted British oppression and tyranny. He adopted the pseudonym “Balraj” while serving as the commander-in-chief of the HSRA, inspiring countless individuals to join the struggle for independence.

Throughout his revolutionary journey, Chandrashekhar Azad remained undeterred by the challenges he faced, embodying the spirit of sacrifice and selflessness. His martyrdom on February 27, 1931, serves as a poignant reminder of the sacrifices made by brave souls in the pursuit of India’s freedom.
