Sai portrays Agastya, a wealthy businessman, while Adrija essays the role of Imlie, a bar singer. In a recent promo shared by Star Plus on their official social media handle, viewers witness Agastya (Sai Ketan Rao) and Imlie (Adrija Roy) entering into a contract marriage due to their individual circumstances. Agastya lays out specific conditions before Imlie agrees to the marriage contract. He proposes to pay her 60 lakhs for their six-month-long marriage but establishes certain boundaries. Agastya insists that Imlie refrain from interfering in his private life, and Imlie reciprocates with the same warning.
Agastya clarifies that their pretense of being husband and wife is solely for the sake of their families, and they will share a bedroom. However, Imlie asserts that they will have separate beds. Furthermore, Agastya dictates that Imlie must not develop any romantic feelings for him. With these terms established, both Agastya and Imlie sign the contract, symbolizing their commitment to this unconventional arrangement.
Changing Faces in “Imlie”:
“Imlie” originally premiered in 2020, featuring Sumbul Touqeer and Fahmaan Khan as the lead pair. The fresh and endearing chemistry between this pair captivated viewers. However, as the storyline progressed, an 18-year generation leap was introduced by the makers. Megha Chakraborty and Karan Vohra stepped into the shoes of the lead characters. Currently, Megha and Karan are no longer a part of the show, paving the way for the new lead duo, Sai Ketan Rao and Adrija Roy.
