Delhi: Jitendra Singh at the India International Science Festival-2022 (IISF) in Bhopal said, “India is preparing for a quantum leap in quantum technology that will define the future of science with practical solutions to the world’s pressing problems”.

Technology and innovation will be the driving force of the country’s economy when it celebrates 100 years of independence in 2047, the minister said after jointly inaugurating the four-day IISF with MP Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Saturday.

He said that PM Modi’s path-breaking decisions like unlocking the space sector in June 2020, liberalization of drone technologies, approval of geospatial guidelines, and the recent Rs 20,000 crore green hydrogen mission have opened new avenues for India’s rapid growth opened in March in technologies during the ‘Amrit period’.

Around 120 deep-tech space startups have emerged in India since the space sector was opened up for private participation in June 2020. These startups are not only sending rockets into space but they are also involved in areas such as satellite manufacturing and debris management. “Science has now entered every household and is deeply linked with the future of India,” Jitendra said.
