Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma conveyed his warmest regards to the people of Arunachal Pradesh and Mizoram as they celebrated their Statehood Day. Recognizing the significance of the occasion, he highlighted the shared identity and celebrated the diversity of the country, particularly in the hill states.
“An occasion like this is a reminder to all of us that we have a shared identity and celebrate together the diversity of our country and the uniqueness of the hill states,” stated Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma.
Arunachal Pradesh Statehood Day, celebrated annually on February 20th, marks the formation of the state. This day holds historical significance as it was on February 20th, 1987, that Arunachal Pradesh was declared the 24th state of India. In 2022, the day was commemorated as the 36th State Foundation Day, signifying the journey and growth of the state within the Indian Union.
The celebration of Statehood Day is not merely a holiday but a reflection of the state’s journey, achievements, and contributions to the nation. It serves as a reminder of the unity amidst diversity that defines India and strengthens the bond between its various regions.
As Arunachal Pradesh and Mizoram rejoice in their statehood, Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma’s words resonate, highlighting the importance of embracing diversity and fostering unity across the nation.
