The Ministry of Civil Aviation, in partnership with the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI), held a curtain raiser event in New Delhi on May 18th, 2023, to introduce Wings India 2024. The event commenced with the inauguration by Jyotiraditya Scindia, the Union Minister of Civil Aviation and Steel. He unveiled the event and promo video and also released the Wings India 2024 brochure. The minister emphasized the government’s focus on creating capacity in the aviation market and transforming its role from a regulator to a facilitator. The event aimed to showcase the growth potential of the Indian aviation industry and its path toward becoming a global aviation hub.

Government’s Three-Pronged Strategy for Aviation Growth:
Union Civil Aviation and Steel Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia highlighted the government’s strategy for the aviation sector, which focuses on creating capacities, removing bottlenecks, and simplifying processes. This approach has led to a remarkable increase in the number of airports, heliports, and wardrobes. Scindia expressed confidence that the number of such facilities would exceed 200 in the next few years, fueling the growth of the aviation market.
Transformation of Indian Aviation: From Domestic to Global Leadership:
Minister Scindia shared his vision for the Indian aviation industry, projecting it to become the world’s largest aviation market. With ambitious growth plans, he emphasized the need for international connectivity and the government’s commitment to establishing an international aviation hub in India. The signing of air services and open skies agreements with various countries will play a crucial role in achieving this goal.
Wings India 2024: The Largest Civil Aviation Event in Asia
Wings India 2024, which is scheduled to be held in Hyderabad from January 18th to 21st, 2024, is poised to become the largest aviation event in Asia, with a primary focus on commercial, general, and business aviation. The event aims to bring together global stakeholders and participants from the aviation industry to foster collaboration, showcase innovations, and explore business opportunities. It is expected to serve as a platform for promoting the Indian aviation sector on an international scale.
