Union Minister Amit Shah has heralded a significant announcement by the Modi government, marking a unique gift for sugarcane farmers across the country. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the government has taken a crucial decision to enhance the Fair and Remunerative Price (FRP) for sugarcane procurement.
Expressing his gratitude to PM Modi, Shah announced that the Union Cabinet has approved an 8 percent increase in the FRP for sugarcane procurement by sugar mills. The FRP has been fixed at Rs 340 per quintal for the period between October 1, 2024, and September 30, 2025.
This decision, aimed at ensuring fair compensation for sugarcane farmers, reflects the government’s unwavering commitment to their welfare. With over 5 crore sugarcane farmers set to benefit from this initiative, it underscores the Modi government’s dedication to supporting agricultural communities and enhancing their livelihoods.
The increase in the FRP for sugarcane procurement is expected to provide much-needed relief to farmers and contribute to their economic well-being. It aligns with the government’s broader vision of doubling farmers’ income and promoting sustainable agricultural practices across the nation.
As the Modi government continues its efforts to empower farmers and strengthen the agricultural sector, this decision stands as a testament to its proactive approach towards addressing the needs of farmers.
