- Recognizing Excellence: The Naval Investiture Ceremony – 2023 will acknowledge Naval personnel who have displayed gallantry, leadership, professional achievements, and distinguished service of a high order.
- Distinguished Awards: The Chief of the Naval Staff will confer 33 awards, including Gallantry and Distinguished Service awards. This includes two Nao Sena Medals (Gallantry), 13 Nao Sena Medals (Devotion to Duty), 16 Vishisht Seva Medals, two Jeevan Raksha Padak, and Unit Citations to Operational Units & Shore Units.
- Special Memorials and Gold Medals: The ceremony will also feature the presentation of the Lt VK Jain Memorial Gold Medal for pioneering research in the field of weapon improvement and Electrical Engineering, as well as the Capt Ravi Dhir Memorial Gold Medal for promoting Flight Safety.
- Witnessing the Ceremony: The event will be attended by the spouses and family members of the awardees, along with senior dignitaries of the Indian Navy. The ceremony will be live-streamed on the ‘IN Youtube’ channel from 5:00 PM onwards on 31 May 2023.

The Naval Investiture Ceremony – 2023 is scheduled to take place on 31 May 2023 at the Naval Base in Visakhapatnam. The ceremony aims to honor and felicitate Naval personnel who have demonstrated gallant acts, exceptional leadership, professional achievements, and distinguished service of a high order. Chief of the Naval Staff, Admiral R Hari Kumar, will confer the prestigious Gallantry and Distinguished Service awards on behalf of the President of India.
Distinguished Awards: Recognizing Exceptional Contributions
During the ceremony, a total of 33 awards will be presented to deserving Naval personnel. These awards include two Nao Sena Medals (Gallantry), 13 Nao Sena Medals (Devotion to Duty), 16 Vishisht Seva Medals, and two Jeevan Raksha Padak. The Naval personnel receiving these awards have demonstrated outstanding dedication and service in their respective roles. The event will also feature the presentation of Unit Citations to Operational Units & Shore Units, highlighting their exceptional performance and contributions.
Special Memorials and Gold Medals: Recognizing Pioneering Research and Promoting Flight Safety
In addition to the prestigious awards, the ceremony will include the presentation of two special memorials. The Lt VK Jain Memorial Gold Medal will be presented to individuals who have made groundbreaking contributions in the fields of weapon improvement and Electrical Engineering through pioneering research. The Capt Ravi Dhir Memorial Gold Medal will be given to individuals who have made significant contributions to promoting Flight Safety within the Naval forces.
