Doha: In a significant diplomatic move, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi embarked on his first engagement during his visit to Doha, Qatar, where he met with Prime Minister and Foreign Minister His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani. The meeting underscored the shared commitment of India and Qatar towards enhancing bilateral relations and fostering cooperation in key sectors.
Central to the discussions were talks on expanding cooperation in trade, investment, energy, finance, and technology. Both leaders recognized the untapped potential for collaboration in these areas and expressed a mutual desire to explore opportunities for joint ventures and partnerships that would benefit the economies of both nations.
“Furthermore, the leaders delved into recent regional developments in West Asia, recognizing the importance of stability and peace in the region. Amidst evolving geopolitical dynamics, Prime Minister Modi and Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani reiterated the necessity of upholding peace and security not only in West Asia but also across the broader international landscape”.
The meeting served as a platform for reaffirming the strong bonds of friendship and cooperation between India and Qatar, rooted in historical ties and shared values. It also provided an opportunity for both leaders to exchange perspectives on global issues of mutual interest, reflecting the growing strategic partnership between the two nations.
As Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Qatar progresses, it is anticipated that more agreements and initiatives will be announced, further solidifying the foundation of cooperation between India and Qatar and setting the stage for enhanced collaboration in the years to come.
