Prime Minister Narendra Modi marked a significant milestone in India’s renewable energy journey by dedicating the 300 MW Nokhra Solar Project of NTPC Green Energy Limited to the nation. With an impressive capacity to generate 730 million units of electricity annually, the Nokhra Solar Project is not only set to illuminate over 1.3 lakh households but also plays a crucial role in combating climate change. By restricting approximately 6 lakh tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions each year, the project aligns with India’s ambitious targets for carbon reduction and environmental preservation.
Looking ahead, the Nokhra Solar Project is projected to further curtail CO2 emissions, aiming to restrict emissions to the tune of 15 million tonnes over 25 years.
