Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate 511 Pramod Mahajan Grameen Kaushalya Vikas Kendras in Maharashtra on the 19th of October, 2023, at approximately 4:30 PM. This momentous occasion will take place through a virtual conferencing session. These Kendras have been established across 34 rural districts of Maharashtra, with the primary objective of promoting skill development and generating employment opportunities for the rural youth.
Empowering Rural Youth
The Grameen Kaushalya Vikas Kendras will serve as focal points for skill development training programs across various sectors. Their mission is to equip rural youth with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in the job market. Each Kendra aims to train approximately 100 young individuals, offering them the opportunity to undertake at least two vocational courses. These courses are being conducted in collaboration with impanelled industry partners and agencies operating under the National Skill Development Council.
Boosting Competence and Skills
The establishment of these Kendras is poised to have a significant impact on the region’s overall development by creating a more competent and skilled workforce. By providing valuable training and expertise, these centers contribute to enhancing the employability of rural youth and bridging the gap between job seekers and job opportunities.

The Grameen Kaushalya Vikas Kendras are named in honor of the late Pramod Mahajan, a prominent Indian politician known for his commitment to social development. The launch of these centers aligns with his vision and dedication to empowering rural communities and fostering skill development.
