Rajasthan Day: President Droupadi Murmu conveyed warm regards to the residents of Rajasthan on the occasion of Rajasthan Day, commemorating the state’s foundation on March 30th. Recognizing Rajasthan as the largest state in India, she lauded its renowned traditions, warm hospitality, and vibrant cultural diversity.
In her address, President Murmu emphasized the significant contributions of Rajasthan’s residents to the nation’s progress. She expressed admiration for the state’s entrepreneurial identity, which has garnered recognition on a global scale. Murmu extended her best wishes, encouraging the preservation of Rajasthan’s unique heritage while fostering continued contributions to the nation’s development.
Rajasthan Day marks the amalgamation of princely states including Jodhpur, Jaipur, Jaisalmer, and Bikaner on March 30, 1949, forming the ‘Greater Rajasthan Union.’ This day commemorates the valor, resilience, and sacrifices of Rajasthan’s people, symbolizing the state’s rich history and cultural legacy.
Formerly known as Rajputana, Rajasthan derives its name from the “place of kings,” reflecting its historical significance as a region ruled by numerous monarchs before independence. The integration of Rajasthan occurred in seven phases, with Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel playing a pivotal role in the unification process.
Rajasthan’s vibrant culture, characterized by its folk arts, majestic palaces, delectable cuisine, and colorful festivals, stands as a testament to its distinct identity. Rajasthan Day serves as a platform to celebrate the state’s cultural richness and showcase its unique heritage to the world.
As Rajasthan commemorates its Foundation Day, President Droupadi Murmu’s heartfelt message resonates, celebrating the spirit of Rajasthan and honoring its enduring legacy of bravery, resilience, and cultural vibrancy.
