Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivered a stirring video message at the commemoration of Swami Dayananda Saraswati’s 200th birth anniversary. Organized by Arya Samaj at Tankara in Morbi, Gujarat, the event celebrated the life and teachings of the revered sage.
Expressing his delight at Arya Samaj’s initiative to honor Swami Dayananda Saraswati Ji’s contributions, Prime Minister Modi recalled his participation in last year’s inauguration of the festival. He emphasized the extensive festivities as a fitting tribute to the remarkable legacy of Swami Dayananda.
Reflecting on Swami Dayananda Saraswati’s profound influence, PM Modi hailed his teachings as transformative, shaping his own perspective and journey. He praised Swami Ji’s role in awakening India from ignorance and superstition, advocating for a return to Vedic knowledge and rational interpretations.
Highlighting Swami Dayananda Saraswati’s impact on Indian society, PM Modi emphasized his fearless critique of societal norms and his advocacy for women’s rights. He celebrated recent legislative efforts, such as the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam, as a testament to Swami Ji’s vision of social reform.
PM Modi urged Arya Samaj institutions to actively participate in nation-building initiatives and emphasized the importance of natural farming, echoing Swami Ji’s advocacy for sustainable agriculture. He encouraged Arya Samaj to contribute to the goals of Vocal for Local, Aatmanirbhar Bharat, and environmental conservation.
In closing, PM Modi urged everyone to seize the upcoming 150th anniversary of the founding of Arya Samaj as an opportunity for collective progress and remembrance. He reiterated his commitment to empowering Arya Samaj institutions and advancing Swami Dayananda’s vision of a modern and self-reliant India.
