Prime Minister Narendra Modi Inaugurates Bharat Tex 2024

Bharat Tex 2024: Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated Bharat Tex 2024, heralding a new chapter in India’s textile industry at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. Addressing the gathering, he underscored the event’s importance in bridging India’s rich textile heritage with contemporary innovations, fostering a vibrant ecosystem for growth and development.

“Acknowledging the participation of over 3000 exhibitors and traders from 100 countries, alongside 40,000 visitors, PM Modi emphasized Bharat Tex’s role in providing a global platform for collaboration and exchange. He commended the diverse textile traditions showcased, symbolizing unity in diversity through Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat”.

PM Modi outlined the government’s comprehensive approach towards bolstering the textile sector, focusing on tradition, technology, talent, and training. He emphasized the concept of ‘Five Fs,’ streamlining the entire textile value chain from farm to fashion and fostering sustainable growth.

“Highlighting the role of MSMEs, PM Modi underscored initiatives aimed at empowering artisans and weavers, including updated MSME definitions and enhanced market access through exhibitions and online platforms. He outlined plans for PM MITRA Parks to provide modern infrastructure and create opportunities across the sector”.

PM Modi emphasized the crucial role of women and rural populations in the textile sector, citing initiatives like Khadi and welfare schemes that have spurred employment and development. He highlighted government support for cotton, jute, and silk producers, promoting India’s brand globally with initiatives like Kasturi Cotton.

“The Prime Minister stressed the need for technology and authenticity in textile manufacturing, advocating for skill development and modernization while preserving artisanal craftsmanship. He urged stakeholders to embrace ‘Vocal for Local’ and explore export opportunities by catering to diverse global markets”.

PM Modi concluded by reaffirming the government’s commitment to support the textile industry’s growth and innovation. He called upon stakeholders to envision a dynamic future for the sector, aligned with global trends and emerging opportunities, as the government stands ready to facilitate and catalyze their endeavors.

Union Ministers Piyush Goyal and Darshana Jardosh, among others, attended the event, underscoring the government’s collective commitment towards realizing the sector’s immense potential in driving India’s socio-economic progress.
