The new Uttar Pradesh, under the dynamic leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, is scripting a success story that places women at the forefront of progress. The Yogi government is steadfast in its commitment to empowering the female workforce and fostering their prosperity, safety, and self-reliance. In its latest stride towards this vision, the government launched the fourth phase of Mission Shakti, aimed at uplifting women across the state.
The path to women’s empowerment and self-reliance is paved with continuous events and initiatives, commencing with Sharadiya Navratri. Simultaneously, the women of Uttar Pradesh are reaping the benefits of various schemes from both the Central and State Governments, all delivered with transparency and efficiency.
A Remarkable Surge in Female Labor Force Participation
Under the resolute leadership of CM Yogi Adityanath, the government has shown tremendous willpower and efficient monitoring to significantly boost female labor force participation. In just six years, the female labor force participation rate has surged by an impressive 17.9%. This transformation speaks volumes about the security and respect women are receiving in the state, propelling them toward self-reliance and economic independence.
Closing the Gap: Uttar Pradesh’s Progress
In 2017-18, the female labor force participation in Uttar Pradesh stood at a modest 14.2%. However, the government’s strategic interventions and keen supervision led to remarkable growth. By 2022-23, the participation rate soared to 32.10%, marking a substantial 17.9% increase. This is a testament to the significant strides women are making, empowered, and enabled by the Yogi government.
A Collective Effort for Nationwide Empowerment
India’s female labor force participation rate, as per the report, is 39.80% in 2022-23. In comparison, Uttar Pradesh stands at 32.10%. This reflects the collaborative efforts of both Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in their respective domains. While PM Modi focuses on empowering women across India, CM Yogi is dedicated to fostering self-reliance among women in Uttar Pradesh. Together, they have uplifted the female labor force in both India and Uttar Pradesh, providing them with a pathway to self-sufficiency.
Transparent Implementation of Schemes
The Yogi government has meticulously overseen the implementation of central and state schemes dedicated to women’s welfare, ensuring that women receive 100% of the benefits transparently. Several initiatives have been successful in reaching and benefiting women, such as:
- The “Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao” scheme, raised awareness among 1.90 crore daughters of Uttar Pradesh.
- The “Mission Shakti” campaign, which empowered 8.99 crore women.
- Approval and operation of 1,89,789 Anganwadi centers.
- Formation of 10 lakh self-help groups connecting one crore women.
- More than two lakh women benefited from the PM Swanidhi Yojana.
- The appointment of BC Sakhi in over 57,000 gram panchayats.
- Addition of over 1.5 lakh women to government jobs in Uttar Pradesh.
Women across the state are experiencing the tangible benefits of these schemes, contributing to their empowerment and self-reliance.
