Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Shri Nitin Gadkari, recently announced a significant infrastructure achievement in the picturesque region of Jammu & Kashmir. In a recent post, he highlighted the successful completion of a 224-meter viaduct, a 2-lane marvel that promises to improve the state’s connectivity and bolster its economic growth. The project, located at Sherebibi along the Ramban to Banihal section of NH-44, comes with an estimated cost of 12 Crores.

The viaduct at Sherebibi is more than just a concrete structure; it represents a vital step towards enhancing the region’s transportation infrastructure. Shri Gadkari pointed out that this 224-meter segment, forming part of a broader project, serves to not only reduce travel distance by 125 meters but also to mitigate steep gradients, thus avoiding the need for a steep cutting with hill slopes exceeding 80 degrees. This engineering feat has been designed to facilitate the smooth flow of vehicles, circumventing the challenging terrain of Sherebibi Area gradients.

Speaking on the importance of this project, Shri Gadkari emphasized its contribution to the economic growth of the region and the overall enhancement of connectivity. “Under the visionary leadership of the Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji,” he stated, “we remain steadfast in our commitment to delivering exceptional highway infrastructure to the state of Jammu & Kashmir.”

The completion of this viaduct stands as a testament to the government’s dedication to improving infrastructure in the region, which not only eases the lives of the people but also opens up new opportunities for trade and commerce. The reduction in travel distance and the mitigation of steep gradients will undoubtedly make the journey safer and more efficient for commuters, while the overall connectivity improvements promise to foster economic growth in Jammu & Kashmir.

As the region continues to develop, projects like this one play a pivotal role in ensuring that the beautiful landscapes of Jammu & Kashmir are accessible to all, thereby strengthening the bond between the people and their government. The successful completion of the 224-meter viaduct at Sherebibi is a significant milestone in this journey of progress and development, and it exemplifies the commitment of the government to transform infrastructure across the country.
