As per recent data, the state recorded the highest number of traders registered under the GST regime. This achievement reflects the state’s thriving trade and vibrant entrepreneurial ecosystem.
A Flourishing Trend in GST Registrations
In the fiscal year 2022-23, Uttar Pradesh saw an impressive 3.43 lakh new registrations under the GST system. This significant number showcases the growing interest of businesses, large and small, in formalizing their operations and participating in the country’s organized tax structure.
The trend of rising GST registrations continued in the current fiscal year 2023-24. From April to July 2023, the state added 01 lakh new registrations, indicating sustained momentum in business growth and expansion. These numbers not only reflect the state’s economic resilience but also highlight its potential as a preferred destination for investments and trade.
Leading in GST Return Filing
In addition to its impressive GST registrations, Uttar Pradesh has also established itself as a leading state in filing GST returns. Timely and accurate filing of GST returns is crucial for maintaining transparency and ensuring smooth tax compliance. The state’s robust adherence to GST return filing reflects a proactive approach to tax compliance by businesses across various sectors.
