New Delhi, [31/10/2023] – On a crisp and sunny morning in the heart of the nation’s capital, Hon’ble Vice-President, Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar, paid heartfelt floral tributes to the Iron Man of India, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, on the occasion of his birth anniversary. The dignified ceremony took place at Patel Chowk in New Delhi, where a gathering of esteemed dignitaries and citizens came together to commemorate the legacy of one of India’s most iconic leaders.
Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, often referred to as the “Architect of Modern India” and “Iron Man” for his pivotal role in the unification of the princely states into a single nation, was born on October 31, 1875. His birth anniversary is celebrated across the country as National Unity Day, and his contributions to the nation are honored with various events and ceremonies.
The ceremony at Patel Chowk commenced with the arrival of Hon’ble Vice-President, Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar, who was received by a guard of honor. He then proceeded to the statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, where he placed a beautiful floral wreath as a mark of respect and admiration. The act of offering flowers at the feet of the revered leader is symbolic of the gratitude and reverence that the nation continues to hold for Sardar Patel’s monumental contributions.
The event was also attended by schoolchildren and students from various institutions, who performed cultural programs that celebrated the life and achievements of Sardar Patel. This inclusivity and involvement of the youth underscored the importance of passing on the legacy of this remarkable leader to the next generation.
