Over the years, he has held several significant positions, including chairperson of the Standing Committee on Labour and member of the General Purpose Committee. In June 2019, he was honored with the responsibility of serving as the Pro-tem speaker of the 17th Lok Sabha, showcasing his prowess and dedication to parliamentary proceedings.
