Simultaneously, a Western Disturbance, forming a cyclonic circulation, is centered over Jammu and its vicinity. A trough aloft, positioned along Long. 74°E and north of Lat. 32°N characterizes the middle tropospheric levels associated with this disturbance.

Rainfall Projections

  1. Expect light to moderate rainfall in specific areas of Tamil Nadu, with a broader impact on many places in Kerala and Mahe on the 18th. Subsequently, widespread rainfall is anticipated over Lakshadweep on the 18th and 19th of December.
  2. Isolated heavy rainfall is likely over the southern regions of Tamil Nadu, south Kerala, and Lakshadweep on the 18th of December. Furthermore, there’s a significant probability of isolated very heavy rainfall specifically over south Tamil Nadu on the same day.
