“12th Fail”, directed by the iconic Vidhu Vinod Chopra, has been a sensation since its release on Disney+ Hotstar on December 29. The movie, made on a budget of approximately ₹20 crores, impressively grossed ₹66.58 crore worldwide during its theatrical run. Starring Vikrant Massey as Manoj Kumar Sharma, the film depicts Sharma’s journey from a high school dropout to a respected IPS officer.
Overcoming Theatrical Limitations
Despite a limited promotional strategy and a release in only about 600 theaters, “12th Fail” saw massive Box Office success, largely credited to positive word-of-mouth. However, its restricted theatrical release meant many potential viewers missed it. The film’s availability on Disney+ Hotstar opened doors for millions of viewers, eagerly awaiting its digital release.
