In a landmark initiative aimed at empowering and resettling India’s veteran defense personnel, the Directorate General Resettlement (DGR), under the Department of Ex-Servicemen Welfare, Ministry of Defence, is set to host a Job Fair exclusively for former officers of the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force. Scheduled for June 20, 2025, the event will be held at the iconic Manekshaw Centre in Delhi Cantonment, commencing at 9:00 AM onwards.
This event is more than just a recruitment drive—it is a strategic platform where the civilian corporate sector intersects with military excellence. With the support of the central government, DGR has invited leading employers from a wide range of industries including Information Technology, Logistics, Administration, Security, Healthcare, and Engineering. This diverse lineup of recruiters reflects the expanding recognition of the value that ex-Servicemen bring into the civilian workforce.
Registration for the job fair is currently open at www.esmhire.com and is expected to see enthusiastic participation from both job-seeking veterans and potential employers. The event will enable former officers to network directly with hiring managers, participate in on-the-spot interviews, and explore opportunities that match their qualifications and experience.
What sets this initiative apart is its national scope and long-term vision. The DGR plans to organize 18 such Job Fairs across India during the fiscal year 2025–26, expanding its reach and ensuring that more ex-servicemen have the opportunity to secure meaningful employment. These job fairs are carefully curated to match veterans’ unique skills—discipline, leadership, teamwork, problem-solving, and technical proficiency—with the needs of industries seeking reliable and experienced professionals.
This forward-looking initiative is a testament to the Ministry of Defence’s ongoing commitment to the welfare and reintegration of Ex-Servicemen into society. It recognizes their immense contribution to national security and aims to help them transition smoothly into second careers where their talents are not only utilized but celebrated.
Through these events, DGR is actively fostering a culture of respect and reintegration, wherein military veterans are not merely seen as job seekers but as mission-ready professionals with invaluable expertise. This also offers the corporate world an opportunity to engage with individuals who have been trained in high-pressure environments, are driven by a strong sense of duty, and have held leadership roles across diverse and often challenging scenarios.
By organizing such a thoughtful and structured career resettlement program, the Ministry is not only honoring the service of our armed forces personnel but also enabling their continued contribution to the nation in civilian roles.
In essence, the DGR Job Fair on June 20 is not just about employment—it’s about empowerment, recognition, and a seamless transition from national service to civilian success.
