Yoga Fever: Over 5000 Yoga Enthusiasts Gear Up for 75-Day IDY-2024 Countdown

In the ongoing journey of the 100-day countdown to IDY 2024, more than 5000 yoga enthusiasts are set to participate in a vibrant celebration at the Wadia College Sports Ground in Pune, Maharashtra, on April 7th, 2024. This event marks the 75th-day countdown to the International Day of Yoga (IDY) and coincides with World Health Day, emphasizing the profound connection between yoga and holistic well-being.

The event, known as the Yoga Mahotsav, aims to promote a comprehensive approach to health and wellness, recognizing the transformative power of yoga. Among the participants are Gram Pradhans, Anganwadi Workers, Asha Workers/Self-Help Groups, Ayush Health & Wellness Centers, Resident Welfare Associations, Women Welfare Organizations, and school children. Eminent dignitaries, yoga gurus, masters, and experts in yoga and allied sciences will also grace the occasion, underscoring its significance.

The primary objective of the Yoga Mahotsav is to amplify the promotion and awareness of yoga for health and well-being, benefiting individuals both nationally and internationally. This event serves as a platform to highlight the importance of yoga in fostering personal and societal betterment.

Central to the celebration is the Common Yoga Protocol (CYP), meticulously designed with inputs from experts to encompass various yoga practices such as Pranayama and meditation. The protocol aims to enhance flexibility, strength, balance, and overall harmony.

Organized jointly by the Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga and the National Institute of Naturopathy, Ministry of Ayush, Government of India, the event receives support from the Indian Yoga Association’s Maharashtra State Chapter. It is part of a larger initiative encompassing mass yoga demonstrations, sessions, workshops, and lectures across 100 cities and organizations leading up to the 10th International Day of Yoga.

As participants gather at the Wadia College Sports Ground, they will embark on a journey of self-discovery and wellness, embracing the timeless wisdom of yoga. Through collective practice and dedication, they reaffirm their commitment to a healthier, more harmonious existence, paving the way for a brighter future for individuals and communities alike.
