More on-the-job training and skill development programs are needed to manage the technology. 5G will play a big role in helping India reach its goal of becoming a USD 1 trillion digital economy by 2025.

The fifth generation of mobile networks, 5G, promises faster internet speeds. The peak internet speed of 5G is 10 Gbps, while the peak speed of 4G is only 100 Mbps. 5G will offer faster download and upload speeds for the users.

3. Which cities are the first to get 5G?

Days before the 5G launch, Delhi’s IGI Airport became the first airport to get 5G capabilities. On Diwali, the service expanded to four cities – Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, and Chennai. The following cities received 5G service in the initial rollout phase: Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Varanasi, Chandigarh, Delhi, Jamnagar, Gandhinagar, Mumbai, Pune, Lucknow, Kolkata, Siliguri, Gurugram, and Hyderabad.

Almost all smartphone companies offer 5G phones across price categories at present. Major names in the smartphone industry include Samsung, Realme, Xiaomi, Oppo, Vivo, Nokia, and others.
