Each year on December 9th, people around the world come together to fight corruption. This day is known as International Anti-Corruption Day, and it is a time to reflect on the ways that we can all work to end corruption in our communities and countries. This year, let’s pledge to do more to hold corrupt officials accountable and to support those working to root out corruption.

1. What is the history of international anti-corruption day?

The first step in the fight against international corruption was taken by the United Nations in December 2003 when they passed the United Nations Convention Against Corruption (UNCAC). It was drafted on October 31, 2003. The UNAC treaty was signed by UN member states on 9 December 2005 and came into effect on 14 December 2005. The purpose of this treaty was to create a legal obligation for member states to reduce corruption and enforce law and order.

2. Why international anti-corruption day is important?

On December 9th, the world celebrates International Anti-Corruption Day. This day is important because it raises awareness of the widespread problem of corruption and encourages people to take action against it. Corruption can have a devastating impact on societies, economies, and governments. It can deprive people of their basic rights and freedoms, and it can lead to instability and poverty.

Fortunately, there are many organizations and individuals who are working to fight corruption. On International Anti-Corruption Day, we commemorate their work and recommit to ending corruption. We can all do our part by refusing to participate in bribery, speaking out against corruption, and supporting organizations that are fighting it. Let’s work together to make corruption a thing of the past!

3. What are some ways to fight corruption?

There are many ways to fight corruption, depending on the situation. In some cases, it may be necessary to use force, while in others, a more subtle approach may be required. Some of the most common ways to fight corruption are:

1. Exposing corruption and holding corrupt officials accountable.

3. Fighting poverty and inequality.

4. Supporting civil society and the media.

5. Cooperating with international organizations.
