AeSI’s 75th Anniversary: Dr. Jitendra Singh on India’s Aerospace Triumphs

Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science & Technology, Dr. Jitendra Singh, highlighted that air travel in India is no longer a luxury but a common mode of transportation. Speaking on the 75th anniversary of the Aeronautical Society of India (AeSI), he credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi for initiatives like UDAN, the increase in airports, and affordable airfare, making it accessible to the common man.

Dr. Jitendra Singh also discussed India’s advancements in the aeronautical and space sectors, forecasting India’s indigenous manned mission Gaganyaan in 2025, a moon landing in 2030, and a space station by 2035. He commended AeSI as a catalyst for aerospace industry growth and highlighted the government’s commitment to pushing boundaries in science and technology, fostering indigenous production through initiatives like “Make in India.”

The Minister emphasized India’s significant achievements in aerospace, showcasing global-scale missions and encouraging a collaborative approach in science, government, and society. The International Conference on “Aerospace & Aviation in 2047” serves as a platform for knowledge-sharing and collaboration, reinforcing India’s dedication to excellence in science and technology.
