Alia Bhatt, the epitome of grace and style, turned heads at the Met Gala 2024 with her exquisite ensemble that celebrated the essence of Indian craftsmanship and heritage. The Bollywood starlet took to the iconic Met Gala carpet in a mesmerizing mint green saree, adorned with intricate hand embroidery, precious stones, and elegant beadwork. Complementing her attire was a dewy makeup look and hair styled in a bun, accentuated with a stunning matha patti.
In her caption with the event photos, Alia explained why she chose her Met Gala outfit. She said it was like calling to the Garden of Time, symbolizing art and forever. She believes that when things are made with care, they can last forever. As they aimed for an Indian theme, her outfit became something special on its own.
Alia gave a big shoutout to her designer, Sabyasachi Mukherjee, saying that the saree perfectly blends tradition with new ideas. She said, “The saree is a great example of how tradition and new thinking come together, especially when it’s made by @sabyasachiofficial.”
Alia explained that they found ideas from old times to make something new. They got inspired by how rich and elegant Indian kings and queens used to dress. They used special designs like hand embroidery, precious stones, and fancy beadwork that were popular in the 1920s. The colors they chose were like those found in nature, reminding us of the earth, sky, and sea.
