On March 2nd, 2023, the Indian Institute of Sustainability organized the ‘Kashmir Mahotsav’ to showcase the cultural diversity and tourism potential of Jammu and Kashmir. The event was attended by several dignitaries, including Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who addressed the gathering via video conference.
In his speech, Amit Shah highlighted the significance of Kashmir’s rich culture and the need to promote it. He emphasized that the government is committed to the development and prosperity of the region and is taking several measures to achieve this goal.
The Home Minister also talked about the government’s efforts to promote tourism in the region, which has immense potential. He said that the government has launched several initiatives to attract tourists, including the ‘Back to Village’ program and the ‘Tourist Village’ scheme. These initiatives aim to provide better facilities to tourists and promote local handicrafts and cuisine.
Amit Shah also spoke about the government’s efforts to improve the infrastructure in the region, including the development of roads, railways, and airports. He said that the government is working towards providing better connectivity to remote areas of the region, which will boost tourism and promote economic development.
The Home Minister further emphasized that the government is committed to the welfare of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. He mentioned the launch of several schemes, including the Ayushman Bharat Yojana and the PM-KISAN scheme, which aim to provide healthcare and financial assistance to the people of the region.
Amit Shah also praised the people of Jammu and Kashmir for their resilience and spirit in the face of adversity. He said that their determination and commitment to the development of the region will play a crucial role in its progress.
Amit Shah’s address at the ‘Kashmir Mahotsav’ highlights the government’s commitment to the development and prosperity of Jammu and Kashmir. The initiatives launched by the government to promote tourism and improve infrastructure will go a long way in achieving this goal.
