Amit Shah: BJP Claims To Provide Solution To Jungle Raj In Bihar

Estimated reading time: 2 minutes

On the 25th of February Amit Shah, the former Home Minister and one of the key leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), recently made a statement in a public meeting in Lauria, Bihar. Shah stated that the public is troubled by the increasing “jungle raj” in Bihar, referring to the deteriorating law and order situation in the state. He also mentioned that the governance system in Bihar needs improvement and development, which he believes can only be achieved by the BJP government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Shah’s comes at a time when the state is preparing for assembly elections. The BJP, which is in power at the center, is trying to increase its presence in the state and challenge the ruling party, the Janata Dal (United) (JDU), led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.

The term “jungle raj” has been used in the past to describe the lawlessness that prevailed in Bihar in the 1990s, when the state was infamous for high crime rates and political instability. The state has come a long way since then, but incidents of crime and violence continue to be reported, leading to concerns about the law and order situation.

Shah’s assertion that the BJP government can bring about development and improvement in Bihar’s governance system is not without merit. The BJP-led government at the center has launched several schemes and initiatives aimed at improving the infrastructure and economy of the country, and some of these programs have been implemented in Bihar as well. The party has also been successful in winning elections in other states, promising development and growth.

The statement has also drawn criticism from the opposition parties, who have accused Shah of making false promises and trying to mislead the public. They argue that the BJP government at the center has not done enough to address the issues faced by the people of Bihar and that the party’s focus on divisive issues like the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and the National Register of Citizens (NRC) has only worsened the situation.
