0n the 26th of May Amit Shah, a prominent leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), strongly criticized the Congress party for its disrespectful attitude towards Indian traditions and culture. He specifically points out the Congress’ disregard for the sacred Sengol, a symbol of India’s freedom, which was gifted to Pandit Nehru by the Thiruvaduthurai Adheenam, a revered Saivite Mutt from Tamil Nadu.
