Amit Shah Hails Forces in Raipur for Anti-Naxal Bravery

In a strong show of support and gratitude, Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation, Shri Amit Shah, visited New Raipur, Chhattisgarh today and held a meaningful interaction with security personnel. The event was attended by top dignitaries including Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, Deputy CM Shri Vijay Sharma, the Union Home Secretary, IB Director, BSF Director General, and other senior officials.

While addressing the assembled forces, Shri Amit Shah expressed deep gratitude for the exceptional bravery, sacrifice, and unwavering dedication of personnel from the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), CoBRA units, Chhattisgarh Police, and the District Reserve Guard (DRG). He praised them as the foundation of India’s determined fight against Naxalism, acknowledging their pivotal role in weakening one of the nation’s toughest internal security threats.

“I firmly believe that the courage and unwavering dedication of our security forces are the driving force behind our success against Naxalism,” said Amit Shah. He praised their exceptional discipline, patience, and resolve in dismantling Maoist hideouts. “Our jawans never fail in their missions — their valor has even earned admiration from global security experts,” he added.

The Home Minister reiterated his resolute belief that Naxalism will be completely eradicated by March 31, 2026, declaring that this objective is no longer a distant dream, but a reachable milestone under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. “It is this belief in our jawans that gives me the strength to say we will root out Naxalism by March 2026,” he stated firmly.

Reflecting on the devastating impact of Naxalism over the past three and a half decades, Shri Shah reminded the audience that around 40,000 lives have been lost due to this violent ideology, with thousands more left permanently injured or displaced. He described Naxalism as a catastrophic force that denied basic rights and essential services — such as food, education, electricity, healthcare, and sanitation — to the tribal populations of India’s hinterlands.

“Naxalism forced entire regions to live under conditions resembling silent bondage. But today, as the grip of Naxalism loosens, the rays of development — food, education, electricity, health, and clean water — are reaching even the most remote tribal villages,” Shah said. He praised the Chhattisgarh government for accelerating developmental initiatives in the wake of improved security conditions.

The Home Minister invoked a powerful metaphor of transformation, saying, “When a child picks up a pencil instead of a gun and begins writing ‘Ka, Kha, Ga’, it doesn’t just change the future of that child, but of the entire nation. That moment is very close.” The message resonated deeply with the vision of inclusive national progress and rehabilitation in previously conflict-ridden regions.

Amit Shah also took the opportunity to release ‘Leor Oyna’, a poignant book chronicling the lives of Naxal violence victims. The book sheds light on the suffering of innocent, unarmed civilians caught in the crossfire of ideologically driven extremism. “This book will help the country understand the pain of victims and expose those who, under the guise of human rights, support Naxalites,” Shah remarked, criticizing intellectual and ideological sympathizers of violent extremism.

Wrapping up his address, Shri Amit Shah asserted that the complete elimination of Naxalism would mark one of the most significant milestones since India’s Independence. “The valiant story of our security forces — their bravery, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment — will be inscribed in golden letters in the annals of independent India’s history,” he declared.

The visit underscored the government’s unwavering commitment to national security and marked a significant morale booster for the forces on the ground, while also reinforcing a collective vision for a Naxalism-free India in the near future.
