Rajmata Vijayaraje Scindia was a prominent Indian politician and social worker who played a significant role in shaping the political landscape of the country. Born on October 12, 1919, in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, she was the daughter of the last ruling Maharaja of Gwalior, Jivajirao Scindia.

Vijayaraje Scindia began her political career in the 1940s and quickly established herself as a powerful and influential figure in the country’s political scene. She was a member of the Indian National Congress party and was elected to the Lok Sabha, the lower house of the Indian parliament, in 1957.
