Union Minister Anurag Thakur said 91 new FM transmitters across 2 Union Territories and 18 States in India to disseminate awareness programs about government welfare schemes, agricultural programs, news, entertainment, health, sports, and more. The new FM transmitters have been installed across various states, including Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, West Bengal, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, and Haryana, among others. These transmitters will reach more than 2 crore people and cover remote and difficult-to-access areas, that traditional media may not be able to reach.
This initiative is part of the government’s efforts to bridge the digital divide and ensure that all citizens have access to important information and programs. It is also aimed at promoting rural development and creating awareness about government schemes and programs that can benefit people living in remote areas.
