On June 09, 2025, Raksha Rajya Mantri Shri Sanjay Seth visited the Army Training Command (ARTRAC) headquarters in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh, where he was updated on the Command’s vital role in institutional training, development of strategic leadership, and integration of advanced technologies in the Indian Army.
General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of ARTRAC, Lt Gen Devendra Sharma, provided a comprehensive overview of the Command’s responsibilities and initiatives. He highlighted ARTRAC’s wide-ranging influence, which spans 34 prestigious training establishments across the country. The Command plays a critical role in developing doctrines and operational concepts tailored to modern and future warfare scenarios, ensuring that the Indian Army remains agile and combat-ready in an evolving global landscape.
Shri Sanjay Seth appreciated the remarkable strides made by ARTRAC in reshaping the Indian Army’s training approach. He praised the Command’s focus on empowering strategic leaders, expanding digital and online training modules, adopting cutting-edge technology, and emphasizing functional and field-relevant training. The Minister lauded these efforts as crucial steps toward building a modern, technology-enabled, self-reliant, and battle-ready force under the vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat and the Digital India Mission.
During his interaction with personnel at HQ ARTRAC, Shri Seth also commended the synergy between the Army, Navy, and Air Force during Operation Sindoor. He called the joint operation a “successful demonstration of India’s firm resolve to combat terrorism and its sponsors,” underscoring the importance of tri-service coordination in today’s complex security environment.
In addition to addressing national security, the Minister highlighted the Government’s ongoing efforts to expand the reach and impact of the National Cadet Corps (NCC) and Sainik Schools. These institutions, he noted, are essential for nurturing patriotic, disciplined, and future-ready youth. He also reaffirmed the Centre’s unwavering commitment to the welfare of ex-servicemen, recognizing their enduring contribution to national service.
As a gesture of environmental awareness and respect, Raksha Rajya Mantri Shri Sanjay Seth planted a sapling at the Army Heritage Museum complex in Shimla, joining the Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam campaign. This symbolic act reflected both the nation’s deep connection to nature and the Ministry of Defence’s commitment to sustainable development.
The visit reaffirmed the government’s faith in ARTRAC’s role as a cornerstone of India’s military excellence, where strategy, innovation, and tradition converge to build a formidable and future-ready armed force.
