Gehlot’s Criticism of Modi’s Political Statements

At an official function in Nathdwara, Prime Minister Narendra Modi made political statements criticizing the previous governments for not opening railway lines, electricity lines, and medical colleges earlier. Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot criticized Modi for making such statements in his presence, stating that as the Chief Minister of the state, he should have refrained from criticizing previous governments.

Reminding Modi of the Progress Made by Previous Governments

Gehlot reminded Modi of the progress made by previous governments since India’s independence in 1947. He pointed out that when the British left India, the installed capacity of electricity in the country was only 1362 MW, which has now increased to about 2.5 lahks MW. He cited this as just one example of the progressive increase in every field, including education, health infrastructure, railways, and IT, since 1947 till today.

Urging Modi to Acknowledge the Contributions of His Predecessors

Gehlot urged Modi to acknowledge the contributions of his predecessors in government and thank them for handing over a well-groomed country that has enabled Modi to represent India on the world stage. He stated that Modi’s speech made it seem as if a 21-year-old youth who got a job should be told why he didn’t get a job 20 years ago.

Appealing to Modi to Refrain from Insulting His Predecessors at Government Programs

Gehlot appealed to Modi to refrain from insulting his predecessors in government programs and instead acknowledge their contributions to the country’s development. He stated that as the Prime Minister of India, Modi should be a unifying force and focus on building a better future for the country rather than dwelling on the past.
