Former Indian actress Asin Thottumkal, who appeared predominantly in Tamil, Hindi, and Telugu films, was born on 26 October 1985. She has been trained in Bharatanatyam dancing. She has won three Filmfare Awards. She began her acting career in Bollywood but later shifted her focus to the South Indian film industry. She is fluent in eight languages.
Asin was born into a Malayali Syro-Malabar Catholic family on 26 October 1985 at Kochi in the state of Kerala. After her father Joseph Thottumkal retired from the CBI, he managed several businesses. Seline Thottumkal, who is a surgeon, moved from Kochi to Chennai and then to Mumbai to live with her daughter.
