Bihar Day, observed annually on March 22nd, commemorates the formation of the state of Bihar. On this day in 1912, the Bihar and Orissa divisions of the Bengal Province were separated, marking the inception of the Province of Bihar and Orissa in British India. It is celebrated as a public holiday in Bihar and holds significance not only within the state but also among the diaspora worldwide.
The celebration of Bihar Day is not confined to India alone but extends to various countries globally, including the United States, Germany, Britain (Scotland), Australia, Canada, Bahrain, Qatar, United Arab Emirates, Trinidad and Tobago, and Mauritius. The widespread observance of Bihar Day reflects the enduring legacy and cultural significance of Bihar across diverse regions and communities.
