Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma praises the recent decisions of the Union Cabinet, highlighting the remarkable focus on the development of the North East region under the leadership of PM Modi over the past decade.

Two significant decisions stand out: firstly, a ₹10,000 crore allocation under the UNNATI scheme dedicated to attracting new-age industries to the region. This initiative is projected to create close to 1 lakh direct jobs, providing a significant boost to the local economy.

Secondly, the Union Cabinet has approved an 82% increase in financial assistance for Tea Development, amounting to ₹528 crore. This substantial support aims to fortify the interests of the tea community, which plays a crucial role in the socio-economic fabric of Assam and the entire North East region.

CM Himanta Biswa Sarma emphasizes that these policies are instrumental in realizing the aspirations of the #ModikiParivar in the Ashtalakshmi States, reflecting the government’s commitment to inclusive growth and prosperity across all sectors and regions of the country.
