Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma took significant strides towards strengthening the dairy sector in the state by inaugurating the expanded Purabi Dairy plant and introducing Purabi Ice Cream to the market. Emphasizing the importance of dairy production in fostering self-sufficiency, CM Sarma reiterated the government’s commitment to achieving a target of 10 lakh liters of milk production.
In a statement, CM Himanta Biswa Sarma expressed, “Today, I dedicated the expanded Purabi Dairy plant and launched the Purabi Ice Cream.” This initiative represents a crucial step towards bolstering Assam’s dairy industry and promoting economic resilience through indigenous production.
The newly expanded Purabi Dairy plant, constructed at a cost of ₹47 crore, is poised to play a pivotal role in empowering dairy farmers and meeting the nutritional needs of the people of Assam. By leveraging modern infrastructure and technology, the plant is equipped to enhance milk processing capacity and ensure the production of high-quality dairy products.
Furthermore, CM Himanta Biswa Sarma emphasized the significance of this investment in fostering economic growth and social development within the state. He stated, “Built at a cost of ₹47 crore, this plant will empower our dairy farmers and provide nutritious milk products to the people of Assam.” This commitment underscores the government’s dedication to promoting sustainable livelihoods and ensuring access to essential food products for all citizens.
The launch of Purabi Ice Cream marks a significant milestone in Assam’s journey towards self-reliance and economic prosperity. By diversifying dairy offerings and tapping into consumer preferences, the state aims to strengthen its position in the dairy market while creating employment opportunities and improving farmers’ livelihoods.
As Assam continues to prioritize the development of its dairy sector, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma’s proactive approach underscores the government’s unwavering commitment to fostering a robust and self-sustaining economy.
