Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has conveyed his warmest birthday wishes to the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Mizoram, Pu Lalduhoma. Recognizing Lalduhoma’s energetic leadership and commitment to public welfare, CM Sarma expressed prayers for his long and healthy life.
Pu Lalduhoma, born on February 22, 1949, is a prominent Indian politician and former Indian Police Service (IPS) officer. He assumed office as the 6th Chief Minister of Mizoram on December 8, 2023, following a resounding electoral victory.
Having served as a Member of Parliament from Mizoram in 1984, Pu Lalduhoma’s political journey has been marked by dedication and perseverance. He founded the Zoram Nationalist Party and played a pivotal role in the Zoram People’s Movement coalition.
Despite facing challenges, including disqualification from the parliament and state legislature under anti-defection laws, Lalduhoma’s determination remained steadfast. He emerged victorious in the 2021 by-election, reaffirming his commitment to serving the people of Mizoram.
In the 2023 Mizoram Legislative Assembly election, the Zoram People’s Movement, led by Pu Lalduhoma, secured a landslide victory, defeating the ruling party. His leadership continues to inspire hope and optimism for the future of Mizoram.
As CM Himanta Biswa Sarma extends his best wishes to Pu Lalduhoma on his birthday, the people of Mizoram join in celebrating the remarkable journey of their beloved Chief Minister, wishing him health, happiness, and continued success in his endeavors.
