Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has unveiled a bold initiative aimed at fostering women entrepreneurship in the state, aligning with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision to create 2 crore ‘Lakhpati Didis’ across the nation. In a recent statement, CM Himanta Biswa Sarma revealed that women in Assam are responding enthusiastically to the call, with a significant number already submitting their forms under the state’s entrepreneur scheme.
“Our government is dedicated to empowering women entrepreneurs and ensuring they receive the essential support for their success,” declared CM Himanta Biswa Sarma. “We have allocated ₹4000 crore to facilitate the growth of 39 lakh women entrepreneurs in Assam.”
The initiative comes as part of the broader efforts to boost economic growth and create job opportunities in the state. By encouraging women to venture into entrepreneurship, Assam aims to harness their potential as drivers of innovation and development.
The response from women in Assam has been overwhelmingly positive, reflecting the eagerness to seize entrepreneurial opportunities and contribute to the state’s economic progress. The support provided by the government, both in terms of financial assistance and mentorship, is expected to catalyze the growth of women-led businesses and create a more inclusive and vibrant entrepreneurial ecosystem.
As women entrepreneurs continue to make strides in Assam, their success stories will inspire others to pursue their entrepreneurial dreams, further fueling the state’s economic growth and prosperity. With the government’s unwavering support and the determination of women entrepreneurs, Assam is poised to emerge as a hub of innovation and entrepreneurship in the region.
