In the vibrant landscape of Indian politics, the northeastern state of Assam stands out as a beacon of transformation under the dynamic leadership of Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. With a blend of astute governance and a vision for inclusive development, CM Himanta Biswa Sarma’s tenure has ushered in an era of progress and prosperity for the state. Against this backdrop, let’s delve into the remarkable strides Assam has made in various government schemes, exemplifying its commitment to the welfare of its citizens.

Assam’s journey towards economic empowerment and social upliftment is exemplified by its robust implementation of flagship schemes initiated by the central government. The Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY), aimed at providing clean cooking fuel to households below the poverty line, has witnessed remarkable success in Assam. With over 50,94,630 households benefiting from PMUY connections, CM Himanta Biswa Sarma’s administration has ensured that the benefits of clean energy reach the doorsteps of those who need it the most.

Similarly, the Jal Jeevan Mission’s focus on providing Functional Household Tap Connections (FHTCs) has gained significant traction in Assam, with 55,57,550 households receiving access to clean drinking water. This initiative not only addresses a fundamental necessity but also contributes to improving health outcomes and enhancing overall quality of life for millions across the state.

In the realm of electrification, Assam has been at the forefront of the SAUBHAGYA scheme, which aims to provide electricity to all households. With 23,26,656 households electrified under this initiative, Assam is witnessing a transformative change, where darkness is being replaced by the radiance of progress and development.

The Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Gramin (PMAY-G) has been another cornerstone of Assam’s development agenda, with 16,75,043 houses constructed to provide shelter to the homeless and those living in inadequate housing conditions. By addressing the housing needs of its citizens, Assam is not only building physical infrastructure but also fostering a sense of security and dignity among its people.

One of the crowning achievements of Assam under Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma’s leadership has been its stellar performance in the Pradhan Mantri Street Vendor’s AtmaNirbhar Nidhi (PM SVANidhi) scheme. With a remarkable 109.9% loan disbursal rate, Assam stands out as the best-performing state in India under this scheme, showcasing the entrepreneurial spirit and economic vibrancy of its people.
