Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has extended warm greetings to the people of Assam on the occasion of Khring Khring Baitho Puja, a significant festival celebrated by the Sonwal Kacharis community. Khring Khring Baitho Puja is an ancient festival observed predominantly by the Sonwal Kacharis, an indigenous community of Assam. It heralds the onset of the agricultural season and is joyously celebrated with fervent enthusiasm throughout the region. The festival is intricately woven with rituals that signify prosperity, abundance, and spiritual blessings.
In his message, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma emphasized the agricultural essence of Khring Khring Baitho Puja, highlighting its vital role in the lives of the farming communities of Assam. He underscored the importance of preserving and cherishing such cultural traditions that not only uphold the rich heritage of Assam but also foster a deep connection with the land and its resources.
