Birla Mandir is a Hindu temple in Hyderabad, Telangana. It was built by the Birlas. The temple houses idols of Rama and Krishna and hence it is also called as Temple of the Lord. There is also a temple of Hanuman in the premises. The temple has been built in a unique architectural style and is said to be one of the most beautiful temples in India. The temple was constructed in the year 1977. The temple is spread over an area of 11 acres and has a statue of Lord Krishna made up of 9 crore (90 million ) pieces of marbles and jaspers.
History of Birla Mandir
The Birla Mandir, a temple in Hyderabad, is named after the famous business family of India. This Hindu temple belongs to the Vaishnava denomination and its construction took place on October 22, 1977 by Swami Shantanand Saraswati. This was not the first temple to be built that belonged to this particular denomination; however, it holds significant value because of the contributions this family has made in Indian society. The Birla Mandir has been constructed to honor Lord Venkateswara. The deity of this temple is made from black granite and weighs about 7 tonnes. Many devotees visit this temple to pay their respects to Lord Venkateswara and seek his blessings.
Hindu Temples in Hyderabad
Hyderabad is a city in southern India with a treasure trove of Hindu temples. Some of the most well-known are Rangarai Fort, Masjid Chowk, and Birla Mandir. Birla Mandir is located on the bank of River Musi and its beautifully carved facade attracts many visitors. One of the best views you can get of Birla Mandir is from inside the Banjara Hills area. Festivals celebrated at Birla Mandir
The same day when the temple is open to worship, there are two other rituals that are performed. The Abhisheka Puja is a ritual that takes place in the morning, and it is when a deity or image of a god or goddess is bathed with water, milk, yogurt and saffron. In the evening, at Dasharatha Puam ceremony, a special meal is offered to Brahma. Festivals celebrated at Birla Temple. Some of the most important Hindu festivals and celebrations are celebrated here. On Karthik Purn ima (at full moon day of the month of Kartik), the Hindu festival of Diwali is celebrated. On Mahashivratri, Devi Narayan Temple is the venue for a grand fair, where people from all over India come here to have darshan of the Lord.

You’ll see people shopping, eating food, and watching street performers. There’s also a beautiful park nearby with lush trees that feel like a welcome oasis from the heat. Once you’ve explored the surrounding area, head back to your hotel. You’ll be satisfied after visiting this amazing place in India.

The temple is open from 6 am to 12 pm and 4 pm to 9 pm. Entry Fee?. The entry fee is 50 rupees for Indians and 250 for foreign nationals (per person).

The temple is located in the heart of Hyderabad, in Secunderabad. The temple is located about 10 km from the city of Palayankottai. The nearest railway station is Tiruvannamalai ( about 33 km).
By Air: The nearest airport is the Chennai International Airport, which is about a 5 hour drive from Palayankottai . The nearest international airport is the Tiruchirapalli Airport.
By Road: Palayankottai is well connected by road to other cities including Chennai, Pondicherry and Trichy.
